Dr Alka Patel is a GP, Health and Lifestyle Coach and Lifestyle Medicine Physician.

She is the Founder of Lifestyle First® and the Creator of The L.I.F.E.S.T.Y.L.E. First Method®

And she is changing the definition of health in an unprecedented way.

Health as a skill, not a status.

Health as a verb, not a noun.

Something you do, not something you merely have.

Something you build and create and evolve with limitless capacity.

Her approach is centred on the knowledge that health and happiness are intricately connected and are centred around self-care and self-compassion.

She focuses highly on motivation and mindset and empowers individuals to achieve a sustainable healthy and happy lifestyle aligned to personal and professional values and personalised biometrics, utilising the cutting-edge science of epigenetics. She uses a combined medical and coaching approach so that individuals discover a way to explore their lifestyles and are able to share and express what matters to them and gain a firmer understanding of how to live a values-driven happy and healthy life.

Her research-based methodology also provides a focus for corporate workplace wellbeing to ensure that healthy lifestyles are embedded into the workplace culture to support physical and emotional wellbeing with the enhancement of productivity and performance and she supports organisations in strategising health as a key business asset.

Through her own extensive reading and research, she has created The Lifestyle First Method® – a 10 point blueprint for optimal health and happiness, performance and productivity, motivation and mindset, vision and values, care and compassion.

Her passion project is: to sew the seeds of lifestyle medicine into everyday conversations, to embed the roots of health into daily living, to create a canopy of self-care across communities and to flourish on the fruits of connectivity.

She also runs a regular Podcast and YouTube channel – The Lifestyle First Podcast – providing regular health and lifestyle tips.
